STUDI LITERATUR : HISTOPATOLOGI HEPAR DENGAN PEMBERIAN VARIASI ANABOLIK ANDROGENIK STEROID

Anabolik Androgenik Steroid (AAS) merupakan senyawa turunan testosteron yang secara luas digunakan dalam praktek medis. Penyalahgunaan AAS dilaporkan berkaitan dengan berbagai efek samping, salah satunya hepatotoksisitas yang ditandai oleh perubahan histopatologi hepar. Tinjauan literatur ini bertujuan untuk menelaah dan membandingkan gambaran histopatologi hepar akibat pemberian AAS jenis sustanon dan deca-durabolin pada model hewan coba. Penelusuran literatur dilakukan melalui basis data Google Scholar, Pubmed, Science Direct, dan Wiley dengan kata kunci “anabolic androgenic steroid”, “liver”, dan “histopathology”. Delapan literatur dengan desain penelitian eksperimental pada tikus atau mencit, dipublikasikan di atas tahun 2015, dan melaporkan gambaran histopatologi hepar kemudian ditelaah. Seluruh literatur menunjukkan adanya perubahan histopatologi hepar setelah pemberian AAS meliputi degenerasi vakuola hepatosit, kongesti sinusoid, infiltrasi sel inflamasi, perlemakan hati, hingga nekrosis. Pemberian deca-durabolin cenderung menimbulkan derajat kerusakan hepar yang lebih berat dibandingkan sustanon terutama pada dosis tinggi dan durasi paparan yang lebih lama.
